The first short video blog giving an intro to a particular mystery I want to talk about over the next few weeks.Show transcription
Well hello, and welcome to my very first video blog, this episode I’ve entitled belly button fluff and other mysteries.
And so so start with, belly button fluff.
I’d imagine I think this applies to quite a specific group of people. If you happen to be an outtie in the belly button area, I would assume it’s very difficult for you to accumulate fluff, if not impossible actually.
And it feels as though this is mainly associated with men., I just find it hard to imagine ladies being able to accumulate fluff in their belly button, but females out there, if you do, do please do let me know. And even men, I wonder if it is just limited to dads? When I became a dad, I seemed to have an explosion of belly button capturing, gathering capabilities. And so on a daily basis, I seem to accumulate vast quantities of lettle balls of fluff, of varying colours, in my belly button, what is that about?
I would assume that it is related to the clothing that I wear and that’s where is comes from, but my T-shirts aren’t particularly fluffy, it just seems to happen all the time, it’s very strange?
All that to say, life is full of mysteries. Some big, some small, some really important, others really not, like belly button fluff. But it is full of mysteries.
And so here is another mystery for you.
I am madly in love with Luton. I love living here. And that’s not the mystery. I, I know what you’re thinking. Let me give you a few reasons why I love Luton.
Let me give you just a few reasons.
I think Luton is crammed full of life and vibrancy, it’s got some incredible people that live here. I happen to live in a really beautiful house in a beautiful area, next to 2 incredible parks, which is very handy as a parent. I to be able to walk places and I get to walk to work, and into town and to the train station, I’m not trapped by needing the car which is really nice. And we have just got some of the most amazing friends here in Luton, that have really become like a second family to us. And so, yes, I love Luton, I love living here I really do
So the mystery then is this, that in a few months we are going to back our bags, you know, all our stuff and move and leave Luton forever, which is going to be devastating actually. Our kids were born here, I love my job, all these reasons why we love Luton, and we are going to leave. And that in itself this isn’t that strange, people move all the time. We often change the place where we live, our houses, we often leave jobs, we often say goodbye to friends and move to a different place. But the mystery I guess, is around why?
And the main reason we are moving is this, I believe that I have heard God speak to us, and that he had asked us or called us to leave Luton and move to Exeter, which is a good couple of hundred miles away on the south coast.
And that, is a bit of a mystery. I’m not sure how normal that makes me sound, to say that genuinely I believe God is real, and that he can or would want to interact with me and is leading us, has told us to go to this place. That’s a little bit strange. I wonder what you think about that? I wonder what that makes you think of me?
And so I want to do a little series of really short video blogs, just to try and unpack that mystery. To try and explain why I believe that, why I think God is real, why I think God has asked us to go, to leave a place we love to go to a place unknown, where we don’t have friends, we don’t have family. It’s a nice place Exeter, that is very true. But that’s not why we are going
And so, over the next few weeks, on a Friday I’m going to release this short little video thing, and along side it is an invitation because I’m not really that interested in waffling to a camera once a week, that’s great, but really I’m more interested in a conversation. I’d really love to know what you think about that, whether you think I’m mad or crazy or week or what ever, deluded.
I’m genuinely really interested to know what you think about that, and I’d love to have a conversation about it, so there is an invitation, come and grab a coffee. Coffee is on me, lets just have a chat. So yeah, have a good week, I will see you you next Friday if not before.
